Roddy Burkle
Born and raised in Foley, Alabama as the third child of Fred and Elaine Burkle, I attended St. Benedict Catholic School in Elberta and graduated from Foley High School in 1979.
My education continued at Faulkner State Community College graduating with honors in 1981, receiving an AS degree in Business. With computers as the “up and coming” field of opportunity in the early 80’s, I went on to attend the University of South Alabama, receiving a BS degree in Computer Science and Information Technology in 1984. As my final semester came to a close, I found myself with a job offer as a Telecom Engineer in Dallas, Texas and engaged to be married to my love of three years, Terry (Petway). I completed my final exam on a Friday, got married on Saturday, drove to Dallas Sunday; on Monday I begin a new life and a new job. What a ride!
After 10 years of living in Dallas and abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, we started a family and welcomed our daughter Natalie into our lives. Returning home to Foley, AL in 1994, I continued work as a telecom engineer, going to work for Gulf Telephone Company, now CenturyLink. I completed my career in telecom engineering as a Director with FiberRise Communications, overseeing the construction and turn up of fiber networks across Alabama.
Since returning home, my wife and I have enjoyed the wonderful amenities and quality of life offered along our beautiful Alabama coast. I have also enjoyed serving my community as an active volunteer firefighter with The City of Foley Fire Department for 22 years and on various city boards, including having served on the City of Foley Planning Commission for 8 years.
Having worked in real estate for myself and family for 15 years, I obtained my Alabama Real Estate License in 2016 and my Alabama Brokers License in 2024. I enjoy being able to assist people with their real estate needs, whether for residential, investment or commercial ventures.
